In financial services since 1995, Kirk and the Moore Wrinn team are dedicated to helping clients make financial decisions that are optimally beneficial to their long-term goals. Kirk completed the Canadian Securities Course and obtained his Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation in 1998, supplementing his Bachelor of Administration degree from the University of Ottawa.

He has served with the Ottawa chapter of Advocis, the Financial Advisor’s Association of Canada, including as director of education from 1998 to 2003 and director of publication awareness in 2004. He is currently supporting the advocacy committee which represents members and their clients’ concerns to provincial and federal governments. Kirk was also a recipient of the 2010 Ottawa Business Journal’s Top Forty Under 40.

Kirk and his wife Sandra are proud parents of three exuberant young children: Jacob, Nicholas, and Caleb. Like many Moore Wrinn clients, Kirk stays actively engaged in his community and regularly volunteers for various charitable committees, especially as a Board Member of the CHEO Foundation (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario). When he makes time for himself, he enjoys travelling, playing golf, and just hanging out with his family. Kirk remains focused and compassionate in all aspects of his life, and as a Certified Financial Planner, he continuously offers his clients attentiveness, and comprehensive quality service.

Brandon Brisbois

Brandon Brisbois, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-California) joined the firm in 2017 and has been a partner at Moore Wrinn Financial Group since 2023.  His financial career was ignited at McGill University, where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree and played a key role in investor relations for Desautels Capital Management, the first university student-run investment management firm in Canada. Upon graduation, he moved south of the border where he articled with an accounting firm in San Francisco that specialized in cross-border accounting and international taxation. 

Brandon has earned distinction as one of the top 200 advisors nationwide for 2021 and 2022, an honor bestowed by Canada Life and Quadrus Investment Services, highlighting his excellence in advisory services. His ongoing dedication to professional development is evident as he progresses towards completing his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation by Summer 2024, a step that underscores his commitment to keeping pace with industry trends and refining his expertise in financial planning.

Brandon’s client base is diverse, encompassing families, business owners, and professionals, each benefiting from his tailored approach to retirement and estate planning. He navigates the complexities of financial planning with a focus on creating resilient and adaptable strategies, reflecting the ever-evolving economic landscape.

Outside of his professional life, Brandon is deeply committed to his family, having joyfully welcomed his daughter in 2023 with his wife Anik. Residing in his hometown between Cornwall and Ottawa, he appreciates the calm away from city life, finding relaxation in leisurely walks with his golden retriever Charlie, who occasionally joins him at the office, as well as spending time on the water and enjoying golf.

He has volunteered his time assisting in local politics as well as the Chief Financial Officer in a successful Member of Parliament campaign. Brandon’s foray into real estate development, complemented by his personal experience in building properties, has honed his understanding of complex project management and investment strategies. This background provides him with unique insights into the property-related aspirations and challenges faced by his clients.

Looking to the future, Brandon, alongside his partner Kirk Wrinn, are focused on enhancing the firm’s expertise in trust and estate planning as well as bringing on highly capable advisors. This initiative aligns with their commitment to meet the growing needs of clients exploring family trusts and comprehensive estate strategies.

Jean Boisvert

Some people are all talk, and some people are all business. But if you’ve ever met one of those people who know how to connect, as well as get things done, then you’ve met someone like Jean Boisvert.

While Jean is fluently bilingual, he’s actually taken that ability and parlayed it into something quite unexpected. For example, Jean is equally comfortable under the hood of a car as he is in front of the computer screen. He is as focused on delivering highly responsive service as he is taking the time to make sure the detailed analysis is done first. He has enjoyed living abroad, and deeply appreciates Canada. Jean is flexible in his approach to things, and highly disciplined and organized in how he manages his business. He is fluent at much more than language and the result is that his clients truly get what they want: attentive, thoughtful, responsive advice.

Before becoming a financial security advisor in 2004, Jean had worked as a licensed mechanic for years, and then took a position at General Motors to provide advanced technical troubleshooting support. He then went on to be a shop foreman in Saudi Arabia at one of the largest dealerships in the world. But through all his experience, it’s been clear to Jean that people want straight answers and responsive service.

He’s learned through his own life, and by seeing the growth of clients, that with an open mind and the right attitude, you can accomplish almost anything.

Mike Vincent

You can’t help but notice Mike’s sense of humour – it’s immediate, and it’s clever. And while he’s entertaining, he also has a mind that’s different from many others. You see, Mike is not your normal numbers guy.

Mike had originally intended on studying astrophysics in university, but when NASA shifted away from its space program in the late 1970’s, he decided to study mathematics and ended up moving into computing where he was responsible for some pioneering application development in the early 1980’s. So from large numbers to binary numbers, Mike then became a professional golfer and his obsession shifted to small numbers!

Mike has been self-employed since 1989 and when he chose to become a financial security advisor in 2004 he knew he’d be able to take his understanding of business and numbers, and make a real difference in people’s lives.

A true resource for clients, Mike is able to dig into the serious conversations while still bringing levity to the topic. He’s also one of those people who others come to see when they need something done. Mike has so many relationships with quality people that, whether you need a house built or a new floor, he knows who to call. And when it comes to planning one’s financial security, no call is required – Mike’s your guy.

Kyle McDowell

Kyle’s professionalism and entrepreneurial mindset has helped him become an established advisor at a young age. Before becoming a financial advisor in 2013, Kyle ran his own landscaping business that he started at the age of 12 and grew for 10 years in his local town. Through starting his own business at a young age, Kyle developed a passion for business and finances. Growing up in a small-town community, it has always been instilled in Kyle to always have his client’s best interest at heart.

After completing his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce in 2013, he started his financial career working for Freedom 55 Financial. He received the Certified Financial Planning designation in 2022. Kyle focuses on helping his not-for profits, corporate and individual clients in risk reduction, tax planning, and investment advice. He is also heavily involved with the local Chambers of Commerce where he provides insurance and retirement advice for small and medium sized businesses. Kyle’s knowledge, passion, and continuous education and professional advancements guarantees that his clients receive the best advice and service experience.

Kyle is an Executive Committee member at The Royal Ottawa Mental Health Association. In his spare time, he enjoys hanging out with his wife and dog Layla. Kyle is determined that one day he will be an adequate golfer.

Tomas Yachmenev

Associate Planner (Co-op)

Tomas is a hardworking and dedicated finance student from North Bay, ON. He is currently pursuing his degree at the University of Ottawa and is set to graduate in December 2024. Tomas has built a strong foundation in the financial industry with past-experience working for BMO and is eager to continue learning and growing in his career to one day become a financial advisor.

Tomas’ finance journey began as a customer service representative at BMO, where he discovered a deep appreciation for serving clients and making meaningful contributions through close collaboration with other advisors. His passion has driven him to take his skills to the next level as a co-op student with Moore Wrinn Financial Group. In this role, he aspires to expand his knowledge and aid the company in delivering exceptional service to its clients.

In his spare time, Tomas enjoys two of Canada’s favorite pastimes, hockey and golf. His love for hockey stems from his family’s passion for the sport and his own experience playing at the junior level. When he’s not on the ice, Tomas can be found on the golf course, where he loves to challenge himself and perfect his swing. These hobbies not only provide a fun and engaging outlet for Tomas, but they also help him to maintain a healthy work-life balance, allowing him to bring his best self to his academic and professional pursuits.

Jim Moore

After 39 years in financial services, Jim is enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Although retired, he continues to provide support to Moore Wrinn Frinancial Group and is available to consult on the history of his former clients,

Jim’s career in finance all started with a decision he made on his way to
buy a Tim Horton’s franchise, where he met a financial advisor. After hearing
what this Advisor did and what impact he made on people’s lives, it was clear
to Jim that this was the right career for him. Jim had been a Teacher, Vice
Principal and Principal, which is why, when you speak with Jim you will quickly
realize that he was and still is a great educator.

Over the years Jim has built a business that has made a positive difference in people’s financial lives. He has an established clientele in Ottawa; communities in the Ottawa Valley and beyond.

Jim formed a partnership in 2007 forming the Moore Wrinn Financial Group Inc. Jim believes in providing excellent service and advice. His focus is to Build, Protect and Conserve Wealth for his clients.
